Since 2012, Hope and Care has uplifted many LGBTIQ community members’ lives in multiple ways. HAC has educated the community on human right by using sports and entertainment including having youth group dance competitions. Hope and Care has partnered with many organisations like ASOLATE to run programming for youth. Hope and Care has increased our membership as we have grown as a strong voice advocating and running programming on behalf of MSM, Sex Workers, and the LGBTIQ community. Wehave increased our HIV and Hepatitis B testing by partnering with health care providers who provide supportive care to the LGBTIQ and sex worker communities. The HAC team is excited to increase our membership and continue our mission of improving the life and rights of LGBTIQ people and sex workers in Rwanda through capacity building and education through sports. We seek to enlarge our network to educate the larger Rwandan society about LGBTIQ and sex worker rights. HAC participates in International Day of Human Rights by organizing youth for change competitions in football, basketball, dancing and singing. We have brought together more than 3,000 people including students, youth, local leaders, and LGBTIQ people.
