Hope And Care executive director Mr Nizeyimana Seleman awarded by Tanzania Community Empowerment Foundation(TACEF) as The best community activist and human rights defender for the Year 2020 in Rwanda to appreciate for his work in East Africa.
This Appreciation for activists and human rights defenders in East Africa(AHEA2020) awards are Tanzanian award show that aim to recognize individual Activists HRDs that display “outstanding “commitment to the LGBT and SW community.
He says that this is an honor and privileges to All Rwandan community Activists and allies and he concluded by thanking TACEF team for great work they are doing in East Africa.
Seleman is an activist and human rights defender advocating for various vulnerable communities in Rwanda through ASOLATE since 2004. In 2012 he began focusing on advocating and improving the life and rights of sex workers and the LGBTIQ community.
He is also a Pastor of an inclusive church, TFAM Rwanda, preaching radical inclusion gospel. He has been awarded many humanitarian awards in his everyday activities of vulnerable community’s advocacy .He is also known as an innovator, peace builder and change-maker in the community and works to empower youth across Rwanda where he use Sports activities.
